WBR Kawasaki Race Team VIC titles rd 1 report.
Rd1 of the Victorian Motocross Championship was the first major race meet for the new WBR race team.
Travis Whitten, Nathan Whitten and Matt Walker all competed the round held at Shepparton on the 22nd, 23rd of May.
Saturday was the opens were Matt and Travis lined up against the state’s best. Matt had an unlucky day with some crashes a flat tyre and a first corner pile up stoping him from showing his true form. Travis lined up for his first major event in over 2 years. Travis had trouble relaxing and rode very tight and safe but managed to score some points in the stacked opens field. Nathan Competed on the Sunday on the 250f. Nathan hadn’t ever competed at a state level in the A-grade class before and showed some glimpses of good speed but suffered with arm pump on the rough track.
The whole team had a ball and would like to thank the Goulbourn Valley Club for all their hard work for making it a great event.
The team now look forward to round two to be held in Newry were all members are sure to make improvements as the year goes on.
The WBR Kawasaki Junior race team will take to the track this weekend at Broadford for their second round of the VIC titles 29th, 30th of May. If you’re around be sure to call in and say hello.
